So I know that I talked a bit about the site here, but in this section I wanted to delve a little deeper into the purpose of this site and why I’m so passionate about it.
What’s the point of it all?!?!?
Well, when I
created this site I had 4 main goals that I hope continue to sustain it and any
of my future endeavors surrounding it for the continuation of its existence.
Those goals are:
© To encourage teens and young adults to know their worth and
to cherish their bodies; reminding them that it’s ok to wait even if it does go
against popular opinion and expectations. My primary reasoning behind this is so that they can
give themselves time to develop; so that they learn what it means to give of
themselves and share their treasures, (not just their bodies but their minds,
heart and soul), with another being; and most
importantly so that they discover how to love themselves (independently
of someone else), because they are too special not to.
© To help build/rebuild their self-esteem and self-worth. Some of you who have found this site
have mentioned that you struggle with loving yourself and knowing your worth
because others have torn you down or told you that you weren’t worth it, and
you believed them. I want to help remind you of how special you are and how the opinions of other’s don’t define you,
you define you and you know that you are worth it. (And if you don’t yet,
you’ll quickly learn it after hanging out with my web friends and me!).
© To help those without mentors or someone whom they look up
to, to establish healthy boundaries and guidelines for their relationships. If everyone around about you is
living a lifestyle that contradicts the path that you are trying to travel
down, then it’s important to find
likeminded people who support your cause and will encourage you along your
journey. Even if it’s not me or any of the other women who have guest
posted on this site, find someone that you connect with that supports you and who
only wants the best for you. It will make a huge impact on your life.
© To build relationships with my readers. In the age of social media it’s so
easy to get caught up in numbers (i.e. followers, subscribers, the public
interest, etc). And while these things are vital to one’s success as a public
entity, I am learning that it means more to me to establish relationships and
to make genuine connections with people rather than having thousands of page
views or readers just to say it happened. I
want to make a difference, not just be a statistic. So as my numbers
continue to grow, (and I really am grateful for this, and constantly celebrate and
thank you for each and every milestone J), I never want to loose focus of the
people… and not just the data that they represent.
I don’t have all of the answers, but I do have a heart and
passion for reminding people from all walks of life and every background how
important they are. You don’t have to share in my faith, adhere to the
same morals and values as me, or think that sex if just for marriage like I do.
But do learn to love and celebrate
you for who you are and hopefully everything else will unfold and fall into
place as it should.
You are
worth it and don’t ever forget that.
P.S. Please help spread
the word by subscribing and liking the Facebook page. I have some big projects in the works, but it’s all meaningless
without your support!
